Random Car Wednesday: 1970 Ford Mustang

1970 can easily be considered the peak of the muscle car movement. Challenger was new, 'Cuda was redesigned, and the Chevelle, Camaro, Torino, 442, GTO, and Road Runner were all updated as well. Ford's Mustang underwent a mild redesign, and performance seekers could opt for models such as the Mach 1, Boss 302, and Boss 429. This particular Mustang, however, is just a base model fastback. No upscale trim or flashy graphics, and no colossal motor. It has a V8, probably a 351 Windsor, but that's it. There's no spoiler or louvers, either. It does have the sporty Magnum 500 wheels, and the owner has added a custom hood scoop, but otherwise it's a plain-jane Mustang. It looks like the owner is planning a repaint in the near future, but until then it's a very drivable car. It isn't particularly rare or desirable as far as Mustangs go, so it's far easier to enjoy it on a regular basis, and that's a very good thing.
